Yvanna & Tucker - Wedding at Santa Clara Ruins in Antigua Guatemala

Antigua Guatemala has a beautiful way of bringing love stories from all over the world together. Yvanna and Tucker’s wedding was a perfect example of that. Their day was a heartfelt celebration that united two cultures, two families, and two lives in one of the most breathtaking places in Guatemala.

A Calm and Joyful Wedding Morning

From the very beginning of the day, Yvanna and Tucker were incredibly calm. There was no stress, only excitement and the anticipation of finally becoming husband and wife.

Yvanna spent the morning getting ready in an Airbnb with her mom and closest friends, surrounded by laughter and sweet, emotional moments. Tucker got ready in another Airbnb with his friends and Yvanna’s brother. The entire day reflected who they are as a couple: kind, thoughtful, and deeply joyful people surrounded by those who love them most.

A First Look Filled with Emotion

One of the most emotional moments of the day was Yvanna’s first look with her father at Santa Clara. When he saw her in her wedding dress, he immediately began to cry. He told her how beautiful she looked and how proud he was of her. Yvanna hugged him and cried with him as well. It was clear that she is truly the light of his life, and witnessing that moment between them was incredibly moving.

A Ceremony Full of Faith and Love

The ceremony was deeply meaningful, especially because Yvanna’s father officiated the wedding.

At one point, guests were invited to stand if they wanted to pray for the couple. At first no one moved, but slowly people began standing. Soon almost 90% of the guests were surrounding Yvanna and Tucker, forming a circle and extending their hands toward them while praying for their marriage. It was an incredibly powerful moment and there were tears everywhere, including behind the camera.

A Love Story Between Guatemala and the United States

Yvanna has Guatemalan roots. Her family is originally from Amatitlán, though she moved to the United States when she left for university. It was there that she met Tucker and where their love story began. When it came time to plan their wedding, Yvanna knew she wanted to return home to celebrate such an important moment in her life. They chose Antigua Guatemala, specifically the beautiful Santa Clara Ruins, as the place where they would say their vows.

For many of Tucker’s family and friends traveling from the United States, it was their first time visiting Guatemala. They quickly fell in love with the beauty of Antigua, the volcano views, the colonial architecture, and the warmth of the culture. What began as a destination wedding quickly became an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.

Beautiful Details at Santa Clara

The floral design perfectly complemented the beauty of Santa Clara. Elegant arrangements added softness and color to the historic ruins, creating a romantic and timeless atmosphere while still allowing the venue’s natural beauty to shine.

A Beautiful Celebration at Santa Clara

The reception reflected the coming together of their cultures. The dance floor filled with merengue, salsa, and English pop music as guests from Guatemala and the United States celebrated together.

The first dances were especially emotional. Tucker’s mom couldn’t hold back tears while dancing with her son, and when Yvanna danced with her father there were once again tears throughout the room.

A Magical Ending

Just when the night felt like it couldn’t get any more special, the sky lit up with fireworks above Santa Clara. Guests were completely surprised, creating the perfect ending to an unforgettable day.
