Two countries, one promise, and a day that changed everything.

Some weddings feel special before they even begin. And then there are the ones that feel magical. Javier and Paula’s wedding was one of those.

Argentina and Guatemala weren’t just countries on flight itineraries that week. They were in the long airport hugs, in the blended accents over breakfast, in the tears that started falling even before anyone said, “it’s almost time.”

Javier’s family crossed a continent to be there. Paula’s family waited with open hearts. And in the middle of it all, there they were. Calm. Certain. Deeply in love.

The First Look at Convento Santa Clara

The silence at Convento Santa Clara wasn’t really silence. It was history. It was stillness. It was time standing still.

While Paula waited in the car, ready to walk toward Javier, you could feel the anticipation building. She was about to see him almost as if for the first time.

She walked toward him with a calm that only comes when you know you are exactly where you’re meant to be. When Javier turned around, there was no performance. Just honest and genuine emotion.

There, among walls that have witnessed centuries of stories, theirs became one more. Javier saw her. He held back his tears as long as he could, but a few escaped anyway. He couldn’t stop telling her how beautiful she looked. And you could feel the joy in the air.

Their hands trembled slightly. Their eyes filled. And for a moment, nothing else mattered.

We stood behind our cameras, holding our breath. Because moments like this cannot be staged. They cannot be repeated. They can only be honored. This was one of them.

Santa Clara Family Portraits

After such an intimate moment, their families joined them for portraits, photographs that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Two families. Two cultures. Two stories becoming one.

You could see the diversity, the unity, and the trust all in one place. It was more than photos. It was legacy.

Ceremony at Iglesia del Hermano Pedro

The church was full. Not just with people, but with history, faith, and generations. When Paula walked in, the atmosphere shifted. Javier looked at her like someone recognizing home. Around them stood the people who loved them most, their village, witnessing the beginning of their marriage.

Argentinian voices blended with Guatemalan ones. Some tears carried a southern accent. Others, the warmth of Guatemala. But they all said the same thing. This is worth it. Their vows weren’t just words. They were roots intertwining. Two cultures meeting in the middle. Two families becoming one long table.

As the priest spoke, we kept thinking something simple. Love always finds a way.

A Surprise That Made the Day Even More Magical

Unplanned and unexpected, traditional giant puppets were dancing just outside the church, as if the city itself had decided to celebrate with them. It felt like Antigua was joining the party.

The Newlyweds Through the Streets of Antigua

On their way to the reception, they walked through the streets of Antigua, and of course, that moment had to be part of the story. Colors, laughter, children, floating bubbles, and the rhythm of the city became the backdrop to their beginning. The city and Central Park became witnesses to what had just been declared. A forever that would not be forgotten.

Reception at Casa Troccoli

Night fell softly over Antigua. Casa Troccoli glowed with candlelight, layered conversations, and glasses clinking, celebrating not just a wedding, but the union of two worlds.

There were toasts that made everyone laugh and others that brought quiet tears.

There were hugs that seemed to say every mile was worth it.

There was a dance floor where no one asked where you were from. All that mattered was that you were there.

Their friends welcomed them with white flags waving in celebration. When Javier and Paula danced, they weren’t thinking about the camera, the timeline, or anything else. They were simply living the moment.

And as if nature wanted to join in, the volcanoes stood behind them, one even erupting, witnessing and celebrating alongside them.

One of the highlights of the night was when Paula changed into Nike Air Forces, choosing comfort, freedom, and pure joy as she danced the rest of the evening away.

The speeches were unforgettable. Especially when Javier’s father shared that from the very first day he met Paula, he knew she would one day be his son’s wife. Once again, it confirmed what everyone already felt. They were meant to unite their worlds.

From Our Eyes

Being part of this day wasn’t just about capturing images. It was about witnessing how love brings together geographies, stories, accents, and generations.

It reminded us that a wedding isn’t just an event. It’s a beginning.

When we think about Javier and Paula, we don’t just think about the dress, the architecture, or the light streaming through the arches. We think about the exact moment Javier took a deep breath before seeing her. The way Paula squeezed his hand during the ceremony. The goodbye hug to family returning to Argentina, now carrying a piece of Guatemala in their hearts.

That’s what we take with us. Real stories. Tangible love. Connections that cross borders.

Javier and Paula, thank you for allowing us to be there. For trusting us not only to capture your wedding, but to feel it with you.
