AN ELOPEMENT FULL OF LOVE AND NATURE ON THE OREGON COAST: DIRECT TO A CORE MEMORY.
Irvin and Valeria live in Florida, but from the beginning, they knew they didn’t want a traditional wedding. Theirs was something more intimate, more personal, more dreamy. Something that felt like them. That’s why they decided to elope. Just the two of them, surrounded by nature, doing things their way.
It was their first time visiting Oregon, but as soon as they arrived, they knew they were in the right place. They fell in love with the views and the landscapes.
MAKING THE GETTING READY A MEMORY TOO.
They rented a cozy Airbnb — it would be the perfect place to start and end the day. Valeria and Irvin got ready right there. She did her own makeup, and it was so special to capture those details and every emotion running across her face. Everything felt so real, but at the same time, so them.
WORDS THAT REPRESENTED THEIR WORLD.
One of the most special moments was when they read the letters their family and friends had sent. Even though they weren’t physically there, they were with them through their words. You could see how surrounded and loved they felt. It was such a beautiful and unique way to have them present.
FIRST LOOK THAT AWAKENS ALL FIVE OF YOUR SENSES.
Then they did their first look, and it was such an emotional moment. Irvin saw her, and couldn’t hold back his tears. It was one of those moments that stay engraved in your heart — and how beautiful it is that the photos still transmit every emotion. If there was something you could feel in the air, it was happiness and love.
A WITNESS TO A UNIQUE CEREMONY: THE CLIFF, THE ROBES, AND THE WAVES.
After that, they arrived at the spot where the ceremony would take place. They chose a dreamy location, just 15 minutes from Cannon Beach. One of those places that leave you speechless. You didn’t have to walk much to reach the top of the cliff (which is perfect for those who aren’t into hiking!), but still, the view felt out of this world.
And there, with the wind blowing strong — but without caring at all — they exchanged rings. Then they had their moment… just for them, to exchange their vows and dedicate those words to each other. In a low voice, with the ocean roaring behind them, the trees as witnesses, and the waves crashing against the rocks. We stayed at a distance, capturing every emotion. It was intimate, it was real, it was beautiful.
After the ceremony, they celebrated with champagne, laughter, and joy. They even carved their initials into a piece of driftwood as a symbol of their forever.
But as magical as that already was — it wasn’t over. More memories were waiting to be made in Oregon, which had become the backdrop of the beginning of their story.
FIRST MOMENTS OF CONNECTION AS A WIFE AND HUSBAND
We went to Gearhart Beach, where they did their first photos as husband and wife. We got there by bike from the Airbnb! Super fun and zero stress. We took photos running, biking, just being themselves. Natural, happy, with the wind playing with them — it was magical.
After a delicious dinner, we ended the day at Cannon Beach, just in time for sunset. It was really cold, but they didn’t care. They took off their shoes, ran on the sand, hugged, and watched the sun go down together. It felt like a movie scene — but with no script, no poses… just the two of them being them.
It was about 9 hours of elopement, but every second was worth it. Telling the story of their love through photos was an honor. It was more than magical.
